How To: Save Big On Holiday Shopping with Cyber Monday Deals

After Thanksgiving, there's Black Friday, the biggest shopping day of the year, with stores offering holiday shoppers the best deals they can muster up.  This year's Black Friday was practically a one-day warzone, with Target taking on most of the mayhem (see videos below).

But the shopping isn't over yet.  Many deals were and still are being offered at stores throughout the weekend, and for those who weren't willing to risk their lives in the mass of angry deal-hunters, there's still hope.

It's called Cyber Monday, the Internet's newest holiday tradition, since 2005.  It's basically Black Friday all over again, but from the comfort and safety of your own home.  Numerous retailers offer discounts on purchases made through their websites, including perks like free shipping.  Black Friday sought to boost company sales from red (losses) to black (profits), while Cyber Monday is a way to ensure the gains.

According to Comscore, it's working: Cyber Monday was the second highest spending day of 2009, with buyers charging nearly $890 million during the special shopping event.  Some retailers offer deals only on Monday, while others offer sales throughout the whole week, typically from the last Monday in November to the first Monday in December.  So, you still have plenty of time to SHOP!

So, start clicking and saving!  Here's a list of some of the biggest deals coming up, plus some places to look for even better deal ideas.

Camera seem to make the best deals on Cyber Monday, and Best Buy is no exception:

• Nikon - Coolpix 12.1MP Digital Camera in Red (Save 47% - Reg. $300, Sale $160)
• Nikon - Coolpix S4000 12MP Digital Camera in Silver (Save 28% - Reg. $180, Sale $130)

Still, it's better not to rush into buying anything, because you might find better deals elsewhere.  Best Buy offers free shipping, but will still tax on these purchases.  The Coolpix S4000 can actually be found cheaper, like on RitzCamera.com, for $130 flat (no shipping or sales tax).

Step 4 WALMART

There's a lot going on at Walmart, and one of the highlighted discounts is for a huge Panasonic 50" Class Plasma 1080p, 600Hz, HDTV (TC-P50S2).  That's a savings of 23% - Reg. $1100, Sale $848.  They've also got great deals on video games.
